Also, this page is updated very often as we try to improve it. So even if you have read something from here today, do visit again, because chances are more interesting contents will be ended by your next visit!
We have so many different varieties of food that it is almost impossible to list down all of them! But we have taken out some of the more famous ones that tourists loves them while being here, whilst Singaporeans just could not get sick of them (because they taste so good!). In Singapore, the food includes:
Chicken Rice - this is one dish you MUST NOT miss. It is available almost anywhere
in Singapore that it is impossible to miss! For a better experience, ask your hotel
receptionist where you can find a hawker center or food court nearby your hotel
Satay - a traditional Malay dish, this is one spicy food that visitors to Singapore simply adores. Available in chicken, beef, mutton etc. It is some cuttings of meat skewelled on a some wooden stick, and barbacued. Then you eat it by dipping it into a peanut/chilli gravy, which is sweet, salty and hot. Good stuff! If you are not into hot stuff, just eat it as it is! Loti Prata - a traditional Indian dish. Absolutely wonderful dish. It is a simple dough (think Pizza!) dipped in curry gravy. Get a seat near the cook, and you can see him perform the flippings of the dough which made the Loti Prata. All the above are quite easily available at the hawker centers, food courts available around the island. Costs is about S$3.00 onwards, so you do not really need to spend tons on food really!
There is just one word to describe shopping in Singapore - Paradise! If you love shopping, you will love Singapore. Because in almost every corner of Singapore, you will find a shopping complex, shopping centres etc. We are shortlisting some of the more famous or more interesting locations. Orchard Road - Okay, this is one famous road that almost everyone who has been to Singapore knows off. It is a whole stretch of road (which sub-roads/lanes along the way) with shopping complexes, centres (shopping malls to some) along both side of the road. The more popular ones includes Ngee Ann City, Centrepoint and Wisma Atria. Other Places - Also remember to check out Bugis Junction, Raffles City etc. They are not located at Orchard Road, but the merchandise of these complexes are on par (if not better on some stuffs) compared to those available at Orchard Rd. Chinatown - If you are into good, quality but cheap stuffs, check out Chinatown. There are also several interesting shopping complexes there. DO NOT FORGET to try out the food there as well! Sim Lim Square & Funan Center - For computer freaks, here are two complexes you MUST NOT miss! If you are one adventurous person, take the MRT (public transport) and go to one of the regional centers, you will find MORE interesting and cheap stuffs to buy. Our tip is to check out Tampines, Jurong East/West, Bedok, Woodlands towns. Well, Singapore is not a complete concrete jungles. There are many places of interests around the island as well. Night Safari - Probably one of the fastest-growing night safaris in this region! Oh yes, go at night! :-) Singapore Zoological Garden - Place to be if you love nature and animals. Singapore Crocodile Farm - For the reptiles lovers. Sentosa - An island away from the island. You will find sun, sea, nature, extra attractions (like Undersea World) here. Prepare to stay for about a day or two here. Chinese Garden & Japanese Garden - If you love the plants, tress, flowers etc. These two gardens is a MUST visit. Sadly, these two are forgotten places, even by the locals. Again, for the more adventurous who wants to see more, check out Chinatown, Little India and Joo Chiat/Geylang Serai. In these places, you will see different buildings etc. for our different races. - If you are really into nature, go to Changi Point, take a boat across to Puala Ubin, this is one of the rare place where you are see the wild. Good for trekkers.
We will try to improve on this page, probably with links and pictures. So check this
page often, we may update it on a daily basis!
